Planning Process

  1. Six to eight weeks in advance, research was conducted on local photographers who could provide free headshots for students during the event, and a photographer was booked well in advance.

  2. The team decided on the workshop hosts, selecting Vice President T'yanna Allen and Social Media Manager Amyah Gibson due to their large LinkedIn followings and professional experience from a student perspective.

  3. The hosts created a PowerPoint presentation, which included LinkedIn tips and networking advice tailored for students.

  4. Two to four weeks before the event, the team booked a studio in the Mass Media Arts Building to host both the workshop and the headshot sessions. The date and time were carefully chosen based on research into student availability to maximize attendance.

  5. Promotional materials were developed for the event, featuring a sign-up link for students to reserve time slots for free headshots from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM.
